Day 4: Go For a Walk
2 miles. I walked 2 miles this evening, and it was much needed after the day I had. Today was one of those not so good days. My depression tried to show up quite a few times today, and I struggled to keep it locked up. Let’s just say it was one of those ugly days.
I got home changed clothes hooked my ESA up to his leash and headed out the door. The first thing I noticed was how gloomy it was outside. So, it pretty much matched my mood, but I was determined to make the best of my walk.
As I walked, I watched my surroundings and noticed how gorgeous the pink roses looked despite how ugly it was outside. The beauty they put off made my day so much better. It might have been dark and ugly outside, but those flowers showed how beauty can show up no matter what. It made me realize that even on my worst days, I always need to look at the beauty that surrounds me.
So, you’re probably wondering why a leaf? Well, you always see leaves fall from the trees but leaves also grow back. So next time you fall, remember to pick yourself up and grow from it.
Even though you have you worst days, always remember there is beauty underlying the ugly.
