Juggling Audio Books and Book Books: How I Do Both!

So, from a past post (Audio VS Reading) you can read that I love book books, but audio books are a lifesaver when I’m busy. I work full-time as an administrative assistant and I also do the billing, so I don’t have time to read a physical book. Now, you’re probably thinking, “oh, so you must listen to the book you’re currently reading?” Nope! I listen to a totally different book!

How Do I Keep Them Straight?

That’s the easy and not so easy part. I try to see an audio book as a TV show, so that way I can keep it separated from my book books. Pretending its a TV show, is easy for me since I read physical books while my husband watches TV. I can also give the characters faces and picture their surroundings just like when you watch shows on TV.

There’s a reason I don’t do reviews from an audio books. Without a physical book I can’t go back easily, to look for something. Sure, I could order the book and have it as a reference, but after paying for the audio version I’m not willing to pay the extra money for the physical book. Do I get the audio books and book books confused sometimes? You bet! That is when I take a break from the audio book and turn on some music. Music helps keep the books separate and also makes it easier to concentrate on which book is which.

Book Books

I take lots of notes when I read a physical book. This helps me keep the book straight from an audio book. It also helps me write good book reviews! My reviews are usually rushed lately because I couldn’t keep the book book from the audio book. Some of the dadgum reviews had a mix of the two book types and I had to start all over. It’s OK though, I figured it out and got them straight. Hence the reason my reviews make sense!

How many Book Books Can I read?

I read about two to 3 physical books a month.

How Many Audio Books do I listen to?

About eight or nine books a month.

I know, I know, big difference, but when you work 8 to 9 hours a day, it makes books easy to listen to. What can I say though, I love books and I have more books than I can count. (Nerdy much)!

What books are you listening to or reading? Do you do both listen to one book and read another?

[…] I mostly prefer the physical book over the others. Now, if I’m working, exercising, or doing housework, I’ll listen to an audiobook. You can see how I juggle physical and audiobooks here! […]

I found your site interesting so I keep on reading it if I can gain ideas for my own audiobook. You made this blog outstanding, how you able to describe the topic specifically. Yes, I believed on you. Audio vs Reading, what’s really make a user comfortable with. In my own opinion, I prefer audiobook, it’s more practical and convenient to use. I can stay long while doing some errands.
