Depression Sucks! Nothing Truly Helps.

Depression sucks! Nothing truly helps. It pretty much tries to eat you alive and take over your life. There is this weight stuck on your chest and it won’t ever go away. Medication helps sometimes, but not always. You don’t want to get out of bed or perform in your daily life. In fact, you just want to plain give in to the sinking feeling and let it swallow you.

Depression Sucks! Nothing Truly Helps.

Depression Sucks

I am having a really shitty day. Rather yet, a pretty shitty month. Now, I may fight it everyday, but I just feel like giving up. Life pretty much just sucks today and I just want to crawl back in bed and stay under the covers until the weight just eases. Unfortunately, I know that doesn’t happen. Ha, it never happens that way it just likes to sit there and stay. I really just want to cry and disappear. I am fighting the tears today, which isn’t easy but I’m doing it. Escaping my own head would be great today. Oh, and then you add my anxiety to the mix and it’s just crappy. I’m stressed to the max and pretty much ready to be done with today.

So, what do I do

I get up, get dressed, put my hair up and drag my ass to work. Life keeps going despite depression. So, that means I have to keep going, even when I don’t want to. If you really want to learn more about what I do, check out My Fight!

7 Books I Want to Read Thanks to Pinterest!

Just like everyone else I am pretty addicted to Pinterest! (Follow me here!) I use it for pretty much everything, including finding different book recommendations or other bookish things! Which is what led me to this post. I usually use Goodreads (Be my friend) to find recommendations, but I am learning that Pinterest knows me better!  So, as I was scrolling through my pins I found several books I would love to get my hands on and I narrowed it down to the top 7!

7 Books I Want to Read Thanks to Pinterest!

Book 1

A self-help book for my sensitive self!

7 Books I Want to Read Thanks to Pinterest!

Book Snippet:
Are you “too shy” or “too sensitive” according to others? Do noise and confusion quickly overwhelm you? If your answers are yes, you may be a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP). (Goodreads)

Why This Book:
To be honest it was the question: “Are you “too shy” or “too sensitive” according to others?” I get this way too much in life. Everyone always tells me I need to stop being so sensitive, or better yet stop wearing your heart on your sleeve. So, maybe this book will help me when life just becomes too much!

Book 2

Nonfiction Forensics

7 Books I Want to Read Thanks to Pinterest!

Book Snippet:
“Missing & Murdered” explains the practice of forensic anthropology and the skills base of skeletal biology, while at the same time debunking the CSI effect (the phenomenon of popular television raising crime victims real-world expectations of forensic science, especially crime-scene investigation and DNA testing).  (Goodreads)

Why this Book:
I am really into all the crime shows on TV, and this book just reminded me of those! Now, nonfiction isn’t usually my thing, because they tend to bore me, but this book really caught my attention. To get a little bit of insight on how a crime is solved by forensic anthropology would be pretty cool!

Book 3

Hello creepy thriller!

7 Books I Want to Read Thanks to Pinterest!

Book Snippet:
Clarissa is becoming more and more frightened of her colleague, Rafe. He won’t leave her alone, and he refuses to take no for an answer. He is always there. (Goodreads)

Why This Book:
I am not into physiological thrillers, but this books blurb pulled me in! I am not one to read books that will most likely freak me out, but I am wanting to step out of my book comfort zone. This book would be the perfect way to start getting into some new genres.

Book 4

7 Books I Want to Read Thanks to Pinterest!

Book Snippet:
Manhattan art dealer Sera James watched her world crumble at the altar two years ago, and her heart is still fragile. Her desire for distraction reignites a passion for a mysterious portrait she first saw as a young girl–a painting of a young violinist with piercing blue eyes. (Goodreads)

Why This Book:
This one jumped out at me because of the gorgeous cover and the title. I love butterflies and violins, but I was not expecting this book to be what the blurb said. I’m not entirely sure what I was expecting, but a  historical, Christian romance was not it. I still can’t wait to see what adventure this book holds though!

Book 5

7 Books I Want to Read Thanks to Pinterest!

Book Snippet:
For Olivia, representing Jack is a way to make up for past regrets, to absolve herself of guilt from a tragic decision, a secret she has held for twenty years. But as the evidence against him mounts, she is forced to confront her doubts. The man she knew could not have done this. But what if she never really knew him? (Goodreads)

Why This Book:
I seriously thought this was a good love story! Not about a murder and having to represent your ex! I can’t wait to dive in!

Book 6

Salem witch trials anybody!

7 Books I Want to Read Thanks to Pinterest!

Book Snippet:
Three sisters escape the Salem witch trials when the eldest casts a spell that hurdles their souls forward through time. After centuries separated, fate has finally reunited them in the present day.  (Goodreads)

Why This Book:
I loved learning about the Salem Witch Trials, and to get my hands on a book that had those words in the blurb would be awesome! So, of course the blurb is what caught my attention, and the cover!

Book 7

A saving each other love story!

7 Books I Want to Read Thanks to Pinterest!

Book Snippet:
Weighted down by the loss of her parents, Blythe McGuire struggles to keep her head above water as she trudges through her last year at Matthews College. Then a chance meeting sends Blythe crashing into something she doesn’t expect—an undeniable attraction to a dark-haired senior named Chris Shepherd, whose past may be even more complicated than her own. (Goodreads)

Why This Book:
I wasn’t expecting a love story with this one either, but when I read the blurb, I couldn’t pass it up. I love those stories where the characters don’t know how much they really have in common, and how much they can truly save each other.

Of course, there are a ton of other books that Pinterest has me hooked on, but these are the ones that really got my attention. You may see them in upcoming TBR list! So, stay tuned to see when these books might just pop up!

Also, let me know if Pinterest has inspired any of the books you have read or want to read!

Essential oils are taking over as the new natural way to clean, replace medication, cope with stress, and so much more. Whether you are just getting started or are looking to take your essential oil use to the next level, this guide is exactly what you need. (Amazon)

Why this book…

If you are wanting to check out essential oils, then this book is exactly what you need. Alicia, not only explains all the different oils, but also gives you different blends that will help with many things. As someone who suffers from anxiety, some of these oils, if not most of them are very helpful for attacks or just keeping you calm. Oh, and if you need a stress reliever there is a specific blend just for that. (Stress No More: 2 drops lemon, 4 drops lavender, 6 drops of Clary sage). I always have trouble focusing, and guess what there is even a blend for that. (Focus: 6 drops Rosemary, 4 drops Lemon, 2 drops Peppermint).

This is a definite book to add to your collection. It is extremely helpful and has so many blends to help with everything you can think of. Thanks to Alicia and this book, I will be starting my journey with essential oils. I can’t wait to see what they will do to help my anxiety.

Mr. Dark is Live!

Check out my review of Mr. Dark here

Release Date: 19th May 2017

Mr. Dark – I know what they say about me, I’m demanding, but that’s only because I know what I want and I don’t play games. I don’t do girlfriends; I walk away without a second glance…until I met her. I feel myself losing control around her, will she be the one to bring me to my knees?
Ava – All I’ve ever wanted was to own a magazine. Doing this internship at Dark Media wasn’t my first choice. I do what I’m told until I meet him. He wants me, I can see it in his eyes, but he wants more than I can give. He unnerves me; he wants me to submit to him.
How can I say no to him when my heart is saying something else? What if he breaks me?
Will I be able to walk away with my heart still intact when this is all over?
