Spotlight Sunday: I Just Read This Book…
Hey, Nerdy Peeps! On this Spotlight Sunday we are looking at a book that has been around for quite some time. I have to be honest though I just jumped in on the 7th and finished it on the 8th! It was a short but incredible read.
Well, Jessie are you gonna tell us what book it was? Yep, I finally read Perks of Being a Wallflower!
Not a Review, More of a how this book made me feel…
I am not going to do an in-depth review because that will be coming soon, but I will tell you that this book has made it in my top 5 all time favorites! I connected with this book in so many ways and I really felt like I was part of the story. Sure, the book had some confusing parts, but that is what made the story amazing. You follow Charlie through high school through the letters he wrote. You can feel what he feels and I felt like he was part of me. Yeah, I know that sounds weird, but I felt like at times I was reading my own life.
Perks of Being a Wallflower was published back in 1999 and the reason I picked it up is that it was short and I thought why not. I had not idea it would hit me like it did. Also, I am one to usually stay away from books without romance or a writing style like this book, but I am so glad I am adding this book to my collection. I don’t know what else to say other than please give this book a shot!
*This book does contain drug use and has trigger warnings for anxiety and depression. If you can see past those, this book has a really great meaning.
