Book Lovers Survival Tag and an Update

Hey, Nerdy Peeps! Today I am bringing you the book lovers survival tag and an update. I may be a little absent from the blog in the next few days and I wanted to let you know why.

Book Lovers Survival Tag

I have been watching lots of book tube videos since Saturday, and I came across the book lovers survival tag. I am not sure who created the tag but I will leave links the videos I have watched.

This tag was brought to light because of the upcoming release of  A  Map for Wrecked Girls. This book is coming out on August 15th and I am quite excited. In this tag, you have to pick 5 to 8 books you would take with you to a deserted island.

The first book I want to tell you about is A Map for Wrecked Girls…

Book Blurb: Then the unthinkable occurs—a watery nightmare off the dazzling coast. The girls wash up on shore, stranded. Their only companion is Alex, a troubled boy agonizing over his own secrets. Trapped in this gorgeous hell, Emma and Alex fall together as Emma and Henri fall catastrophically apart.  (Goodreads)

I am really looking forward to this book as I am I older sister and I don’t know what it would be like to get stranded with them. Probably pretty scary.

Now Onto my choices…

To Kill A Mockingbird

This book would be my first choice because it is my all time favorite and I can’t picture not having it among my choices. I love all of the history and lessons that are taught in this book. Plus, how can you not love a little girl who gets into all kinds of trouble and just wants to be one of the boys.

Book Blurb: Compassionate, dramatic, and deeply moving, To Kill A Mockingbird takes readers to the roots of human behavior – to innocence and experience, kindness and cruelty, love and hatred, humor and pathos. Now with over 18 million copies in print and translated into forty languages, this regional story by a young Alabama woman claims universal appeal. Harper Lee always considered her book to be a simple love story. Today it is regarded as a masterpiece of American literature. (Goodreads)

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

This would be my second choice because I love how much I related to this story! I feel like I was reading a book about my life and was pulled in to every word I read. It’s definitely a must read if you are trying to find your place in this crazy world.

Book Blurb: The critically acclaimed debut novel from Stephen Chbosky, Perks follows observant “Wallflower” Charlie as he charts a course through the strange world between adolescence and adulthood. First dates, family drama, and new friends. Sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Devastating loss, young love, and life on the fringes. Caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it, Charlie must learn to navigate those wild and poignant roller-coaster days known as growing up. (Goodreads)

Preppy: The Life and Death of Samuel Clearwater Part 3

Of course, I had to include a book from one of my favorite series and favorite authors. T.M. Frazier does an amazing job of bringing you sexy romance, hot and sexy men, and suspense. I love me a bow tie wearing bad boy who loves pancakes and this book did it all for me!

Book Blurb: The bow tie is BACK!
Dre was just a beautiful stranger when Preppy saved her the first time around. Now, he has to save her again, but she’s no longer some stranger, she’s family, and he has no idea who or what he’s up against.
What he does know is that putting his family back together is the only acceptable outcome.
Preppy’s to-do list?

He’s alive…and he’s out for BLOOD.

The Fault In Our Stars

I’ll probably need to have a good cry since I will be stranded and all, so why not pick a book that made me cry. This was such a beautiful story and I couldn’t pass it up to add to my list.  The love story this book gives you will make you mad, it will make you laugh, and it will make you cry but it is so worth it.

Book Blurb: Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten.

Sweet Reckoning (Sweet #3)

This has got to be one of my favorite in the YA series about half demons. If you love stories about the 7 deadly sins then you will love to sink your brain into this one! I love this series because it was always something different, but the third happened to be my favorite.  Of course, this may be the only YA I chose, but I had to have one in this list somewhere.

Book Blurb: The stakes are higher than ever, and Anna is determined that the love she feels will be her strength, not a liability. But trying to protect the ones she loves while running for her life and battling demonic forces proves to be perilous—especially as faces are changing and trust is fleeting. When the Duke of Lust sends Anna’s great love, Kaidan Rowe, to work against her, Anna must decide how much she’s prepared to risk.

Mr. Dark

Now, if I had a boss like Mr. Dark I would love going to work every day.  Just like Ava though, I wouldn’t want to be broken by a man, but I wouldn’t mind being in Mr. Dark’s bed. Also, if you’re going to be stuck on an island you need a good steamy read to keep your mind distracted.

Book lovers survival tag and an update

Book BlurbMr. Dark – I know what they say about me, I’m demanding, but that’s only because I know what I want and I don’t play games. I don’t do girlfriends; I walk away without a second glance…until I met her. I feel myself losing control around her, will she be the one to bring me to my knees?

Ava – All I’ve ever wanted was to own a magazine. Doing this internship at Dark Media wasn’t my first choice. I do what I’m told until I meet him. He wants me, I can see it in his eyes, but he wants more than I can give. He unnerves me; he wants me to submit to him.
How can I say no to him when my heart is saying something else? What if he breaks me?
Will I be able to walk away with my heart still intact when this is all over?

So, here are my 6 choices for being stranded on an island. What books would you choose?

Saturday, August 5, 2017, I was involved in a car accident and it was pretty scary. The vehicle I was in took a tumble, but everyone is home and resting. As for my sister’s wedding, we are planning and finding a new date.  I am sore and healing slowly but I am making it. Any prayers and good vibes you want to send my way are greatly appreciated.
