End of Year TBR (Part 1)

Hey, Nerdy Peeps! I suck at monthly TBR’s so, I decided I am going to do the beginning of year TBR’s and end of year TBR’s.  That way I can get all the books I want to read in 6 months in one post!

Physical Books

end year tbr read

These are in no particular order, they are just what I am planning on reading before January. So, Let me tell a little bit about why I want to read these books in particular!

Current Read #1

Revelry by Kandi Steiner

I love books where the character is trying to find themselves! But, in this book, one is trying to find herself and the other is perfectly fine with being lost. Once I started reading this book, it was really hard to put down. I was hooked from the very first sentence and couldn’t wait to read more. It is also written in both Wren’s POV and Anderson’s POV, and those happen to also be my favorite kind of books. Reading both POV’s gives the characters more life and helps me to understand each of them better.

Book Blurb: Sometimes getting lost is the way to find yourself. Sometimes healing only adds a new scar. And sometimes the last place you expected to be is exactly where you find home. (Goodreads)
(I hardly ever put the entire blurb, I like to keep you guessing!)

Dangerous Refuge by Elizabeth Lowell

Who else likes a little romance with their murders? I know I do, especially when they are also full of mystery. Throw a cop and a conservative into the mix and what more could you ask for? I also love stories where the male character has to protect his girl from a big threat. It’s also based in the country which speaks to my country girl heart.

Now, not going to lie, but this book has been on my shelf for quite some time. I just keep passing it up, but I am wanting to read books that have been sitting on my shelves that I haven’t touched.

Book Blurb: Murder and mystery spark unexpected romance in this captivating new tale from the beloved New York Times bestselling author.
They believe passion this intense cannot last. But when Shaye becomes a killer’s target, Tanner realizes he’d give up anything to protect her-including his life.

Moon Called by Patricia Briggs

I am ready to get back into my favorite genre! Paranormal fantasy was my all time favorite. I used to read this genre all the time and I could get through a book in just a few days. Now, this book was suggested by an employee at Books-a-Million and she hit the nail on the head. This is the first book in a series and it happens to contain shape shifters (which I love)! I can’t really get much from the blurb, but this book just seems like it is going to full of adventure.

Book Blurb: Mercedes “Mercy” Thompson is a talented Volkswagen mechanic living in the Tri-Cities area of Washington. She also happens to be a walker, a magical being with the power to shift into a coyote at will. Mercy’s next-door neighbor is a werewolf. Her former boss is a gremlin. And she’s fixing a bus for a vampire. This is the world of Mercy Thompson, one that looks a lot like ours but is populated by those things that go bump in the night. And Mercy’s connection to those things is about to get her into some serious hot water…

Made to Crave: 60 Days to Craving God, Not Food by Lysa TerKeurst

I won this as a prize in a Beachbody workout group and I can’t wait to get started! Finding my faith again has been a must on my goals and to do list. So, winning this devotional that will not only help me in finding God but also help me with food cravings is a major yes for me!

Book Blurb: “We need more than 19 chapters to stay motivated and on track. That’s why I wrote this daily devotional with 60 inspirational entries. There is plenty of new material not in the original book. Rest assured, I also included your favorite nuggets of wisdom from Made to Crave.”Just like the Made to Crave book, this Made to Crave Devotional is not a how-to get healthy book. It is the road to finding the lasting ‘want to’ that extends far beyond the surface issues of weighing less and wanting to wear a smaller clothes size.

Stolen: A Letter to My Captor by Lucy Christopher

I bought this book thanks to a book tuber! (Um, I can’t remember which one.) This book is a complete mystery to me since I didn’t read the blurb, so I am really excited to get into this one. The book tuber’s description really pulled me in so, this will be a blind read for me and I am quite excited!

Book Blurb: Not sharing this one since I don’t want to read it 🙂
(Here is the link)

Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire

I have heard so much about the book and it’s not something I would find myself reading. But, because of the hype and the blurb, I will be reading this one after a finish my two current reads. This book just feels like it is going to be full of so much adventure and I can’t wait to jump in. Also, all the different world’s the children fall into have my attention hooked!

Book Blurb: Children have always disappeared under the right conditions; slipping through the shadows under a bed or at the back of a wardrobe, tumbling down rabbit holes and into old wells, and emerging somewhere… else.

Everything We Left Behind by Kerry Lonsdale

I won this ARC in a giveaway. The title and cover are mostly what grabbed my attention and it just felt like something I would enjoy reading. This book is not your typical love story, considering the male character was presumed dead and the female character moved on. Also, this is the second book in a series so, I will be reading the first book before I dive into this one.

Book Blurb: Two months before his wedding, financial executive James Donato chased his trade-laundering brother Phil to Mexico, only to be lost at sea and presumed dead. Six and a half years later, he emerges from a dissociative fugue state to find he’s been living in Oaxaca as artist Carlos Dominguez, widower, and father of two sons, with his sister-in-law Natalya Hayes, a retired professional surfer, helping to keep his life afloat. But his fiancée, Aimee Tierney, the love of his life, has moved on. She’s married and has a child of her own.

Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone

Since I fight a mental illness every day, I have been wanting to read more books that have characters that also have the same fight. Every Last Word, follows a character who fights Obsessional OCD and I am excited to see how the author portrays her fight. I also want to see how a popular girl with a mental illness keeps her new group of friends a secret and how they help her get through her fight.

Book Blurb: Samantha McAllister looks just like the rest of the popular girls in her junior class. But hidden beneath the straightened hair and expertly applied makeup is a secret that her friends would never understand: Sam has Purely-Obsessional OCD and is consumed by a stream of dark thoughts and worries that she can’t turn off.

Royally Crushed by Niki Burnham

Another book that has probably been on my shelf since high school. (That’s 7 years lol) So, I honestly don’t remember what this book is about, but I do know I probably picked it up because of the cover! I mean a girl in a crown, kissing a Frog has awesome fairytale written all over it. Of course, I am also a sucker for finding your prince charming.

Book Blurb: A sweet and sparkly romantic comedy about finding your prince!
True love isn’t only in fairy tales…When Valerie’s parents split up and she has to move to a tiny European country called Schwerinborg, she’s pretty sure her life is over. That is until she meets Georg. He’s smart, sweet, and unbelievably cute. And even better, he’s a prince! But with Georg under so much pressure, and the press watching their every move, Valerie soon discovers dating a prince is not exactly the happily ever after she’d been hoping for. But Georg has swept her off her feet and Valerie’s not ready to give up her prince just yet…

Part 2…

Is coming soon! Part 2 will contain the EBooks and audiobooks I plan on adding to my end of year TBR mix! So, definitely come back and see what other goodies I’ll be jumping into!
