Life With PCOS Week One

Hey Nerdy Peeps! I am starting something new for the blog and that’s Life With PCOS updates. I was diagnosed on a Wednesday so I figured Wednesdays will be dedicated to PCOS.

So, What is PCOS?

PCOS stands for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. So, what does that mean?

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a condition that affects a woman’s hormone levels. Women with PCOS produce higher-than-normal amounts of male hormones. This hormone imbalance causes them to skip menstrual periods and makes it harder for them to get pregnant.

There are symptoms that everyone has and there are some symptoms that some don’t. I’m still learning and doing my research so, as I learn so will you.

What I’ve learned so far…

I am not infertile

I will have a baby, it’ll just take time.

PCOS explains why I’m sleepy all the time.

There are so many support groups to learn from.

Vitamins will be my best friend.

My diet needs a complete overhaul.

The gym is going to be my second husband.

I can’t have sugar.

Dairy is a no-no since it is higher in testosterone.

There may not be a cure, but I will win this fight!

Why is this a big deal?

Well, my hubs and I have been trying to get pregnant for a little over a year and a half now, and well you haven’t seen a pregnancy announcement so, there’s that.

So, I went to my doctor since it was bugging me and since my cycles were off, and she decided to run some blood tests. A week and a half later I got my answer. On 8/22/18 I was diagnosed with PCOS. My entire world turned upside down because all I have heard is that PCOS causes major weight gain and infertility. I have wanted a baby ever since my nephew Kyler was born, and when my doctor gave me the news I hated it.

I cried and left work early to cry some more, only to fall asleep for two hours. The fatigue sucks with PCOS by the way. Anyway, so we started the plan to make babies and I am following it to my best ability.

Taking you on this journey helps me keep track of how everything is going. I love that I can share things with y’all and be open about my life. So, thanks for sticking with me and I promise when things change you will know.

New Goals For a New Outlook

Hey Nerdy Peeps! I have some fresh new goals to throw at you! These are new thanks to an epiphany I had about an hour ago. So, here we go!

  2. Get more organized!
    • I really suck at organization. I mean really suck at it. So, I am googling and Pinning all the different ways to work on this!
  3. Buy a house!
    • This is a huge priority on my list!
  4. Tell more people about my business.
  5. Lose 10 pounds by the end of July
    • Yeah, this really needs to happen. So, I need to step up my nutrition game.
  6. Work on capture page for the blog!
    • Yep, this will also happen eventually. I’m not sure what it’ll be yet, but it’ll be good!
  7. Work on book 2 for the Deadly Love series!
  8. Work on an EBook.
    • I want to teach people how to start a WordPress site from scratch! What better way to do that than with an e-book.

Things I’m Looking Forward To, Challenge Day 8

Hey Nerdy Peeps! It’s challenge day 8, and that means I get to tell you about things I’m looking forward to. That something is a lot of writing.

Things I’m Looking Forward To

I have been a writing machine and I love it! The reason you ask? I am working on quite a few anthology pieces and I’m super excited. They are of course all romance stories because hello, I’m kind of good at it. Or at least I think I am. So, who wants to know the titles. I’m going to pretend I saw some hands go up!

Unexpected – The Plus Sign Anthology

Promised – Our Secret Nook Anthology

Books & Wine – “Casseroles” Thanksgiving Anthology

Muffins – Breakup or Makeup Anthology

That’s all the info I plan on sharing for now. (hehe) But I promise these will be worth the read! The stories that will make up these anthologies are by some amazing authors.

You can also see updates and all other awesome stuff on my Facebook page! Jessica Butler Author

When I have release dates and all the other goodies I will definitely let you know. Just hang in there, because pregnancy, werewolves, food and well more food will be totally worth waiting for!

I think I Can I Think I Can

Hey Nerdy Peeps! I know, I know, I’ve missed quite a few days on this May Blogging Challenge. So, I’m going to mix it up a little bit and go back to day six. So, let me tell you about my favorite childhood book.

The Little Engine That Could

You know that lovely saying, I think I can, I think I can. Well, it happens to be a quote in my favorite childhood book about a little blue engine. This isn’t just a book that teaches a lesson to children about not giving up, but it also teaches a lesson that no matter how small you are you can do big things. It can also teach adults the same lessons.

This will be a book I will read to my children and a book that I hope they will pass on to their children. Also, the cover is adorable!

I think I can I think I can

Blurb:

The story of a train filled with toys and gifts for little boys and girls that breaks down before reaching the children. After asking several passing trains for help over the hill, a little blue train agrees to help the stranded toys. Even though she is small, the blue train tries her best to bring the toys to the children on the other side of the hill.

I think I can I think I can

So, here it is day 6 on day 7. Bare with me, I will get back on track starting tomorrow. You will love this book just as much as I and your children will love it too!

Here is Challenge Day 1!
