Time to Break a Bad Habit

“Time to Break a Bad Habit!”

How many times have you told yourself that you are going to break those bad habits? What steps did you take to break the habit, did they work?

Well, let me tell ya about a few of my bad habits and how many times I have tried to break them!

Time to Break a Bad Habit

Bad Habit #1

Biting my nails *cringe*
Yes, I know this is a horrible habit and I have tried to break it numerous times. Also, I don’t need to hear how gross it is, trust me I’ve been told. My momma always reminds me. Now, I’ve tried every trick I could find, but sometimes an anxious mind equals biting my nails.  The best thing that gets me close to breaking the habit it getting my nails done, but unfortunately getting them done is getting expensive. I have even done my best to just not bite them, but that hasn’t gotten me very far either.

So, what am I going to do? Starting today, I am just going to force myself to quit. I am replacing this habit with gum chewing and lollipops! Wish me luck, I’m gonna need it!

Bad Habit #2

Giving up on a weight loss journey
I can’t count how many times I have tried and failed at a weight loss journey. (I ran out of fingers and toes to count).  I’ve probably done it all when it comes to weight loss fads and dieting. I have a goal weight and have told myself I would be there by now, well that did not happen. I’m still at the same weight.

So, what am I going to do? Well, for starters I am cutting out sugary drinks, and fast food. Next, I am going to start utilizing my sister in laws swimming pool, because I heard that was a good way to exercise. I am also going to start walking later in the evenings, that it’s kind of cooler and I don’t die from heat exhaustion. (I live in Texas, so pray for me).

Bad Habit #3

Hitting the snooze button
Yeah, so my alarm goes off at 6:15 AM, and I hit snooze until 6:30 AM. Now, you’re probably thinking, why is this a bad thing? Well, I leave my house at 6:45 AM. That gives me 15 minutes to get ready, which is why I love jeans, t-shirts,  my boots, and hair in a ponytail. The reason this is a bad habit for me is that I work in an administrative position, and I interact with customers. So, t-shirt and jeans aren’t really the look I want to portray in my job.

So, what am I going to do? Work on not hitting the snooze button! That sounds simple, but I love my sleep. I mean I really love my sleep and the snooze button is amazing. It’s also evil and sometimes gives me less than 15 minutes to get ready. So, my goal is to not hit the snooze button and to get up with enough time to look cute, put some makeup on, and fix my hair.
