5 Struggles of Being Married To a Book Nerd

Hey, Nerdy Peeps! Today’s post is brought to you from my non-reading husband’s struggles of being married to me, the book nerd.  He came up with five struggles he goes through with me! We had fun doing this post together, and I hope I can get him to contribute to more!

5 Struggles of Being Married to a Book Nerd

Struggle #1
Always reading!

Struggle #2
Quotes books when she knows you have no idea what she’s talking about

Struggle #3
Making vacation plans that revolve around bookstores

Struggle #4
Spending an hour or more in bookstores when you said “it’ll only be 5 minutes”

Struggle #5
Makes you contribute to book blog posts! Even though you don’t read

So, there you have it, 5 Struggles of Being Married to a Book Nerd! He was so worried I would get mad when he came up with these struggles. I actually just laughed because I knew they were all true. If you want to know our story you can check out this post here!  This post came from an idea from another post here on the blog and you can read that one if you click here!

So, is your husband/wife a non-reader that struggles with your book nerdiness? What are some struggles they face? Remember, don’t get mad, make it a fun conversation!

I don’t even have to ask him to know them. His face whenever book mail arrives is the biggest clue one can get. He has this thing about “You already have so many books you haven’t even read yet, and they keep pouring in!”
Also, whenever we’re in a new city, the first thing to google will be something along the lines of “biggest bookstore” or “English bookstore”. Most of the time I’m just guiding him in that direction without him noticing, haha.
Oh, and the third struggle that I can immediately think of is that I’m always reading in bed when he’s already trying to sleep. He gets bothered by the light, no matter what I do. It’s as if he just smells the light and starts complaining sometimes!

[They should be happy it’s “just” books, though. They’d go nuts with someone hoarding shoes or handbags. At least my boyfriend would.]

I hoard books and makeup and it drives my husband crazy! But he also bought me a book light so I think he’s getting used to all my book nerdiness!

LOVE number 2, LOL. I feel like I’m no longer a book nerd but I enjoy reading when we drive long distance and I sit in the back of the car to read.

I always tell him well “I bet I can find you something to read” His response is “Nope, I’m good” He supports my book hoarding habit so I love him anyways lol

The look on his face when you suggest turning a room (or the walk in closet in your room) into a private library.
